Our goal is to preserve, maintain, promote, foster and encourage Danish history, culture and language within New Zealand.
We organise events to celebrate Danish holidays and festivals and activities related to Danish traditions.
Facilities
There are two main property assets that the Auckland Danish Society maintains for the benefit of its members. Danish House can be booked for things like social events and fund raising dinners, while Valhalla is a ready venue for weekend holidays
Activities
The Danish Society organises and facilitates a variety of activities for members of all ages and interests. On these pages you can read about some of the frequent activities spanning from folk dancing, over movie nights to Valhalla working bees.

A message from the President
Welcome to the Danish Society website. We are based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Our goal is to preserve, maintain, promote, foster and encourage Danish history, culture and language within New Zealand.
We organise events to celebrate Danish holidays and festivals and activities related to Danish traditions.
We want to promote understanding and relations between Danes and New Zealanders and other ethnic people in New Zealand.
We promote sustainability of the environment: maintaining our two properties, and developing the environment at Valhalla.

About the society
From 1942 to the present day, the club has prospered and accomplished it’s aims of assistance to Danes and integration into their new country, New Zealand.
- 1942 -The original Danish Association (Inc.) Constitution and Rules.
- 1958 – The Danish Society Inc., Certificate of Incorporation.
- 1966 – Celebrating the opening of the Danish House in Parnell. Booklet and Royal Telegram
- 1991 – 25th anniversary of the Danish House in Parnell
- 1992 – 50th anniversary of Danish Society
